On Lessons from Fluffy Ones ...

Pretty Caucasian woman at the beach smiling at camera.

The message below was forwarded to me by a lovely colleague who knows I am a sucker for anything animal related. And I was inspired to pass it on because our fluffy counterparts in the pictures can tell us a lot about living well.

Here are some that come to mind:

  1. Get out and walk every day; it really matters majorly for our health in more ways than one. Check out this video to see why:

  2. Connection is vitally important-to people; places; ideas; spirituality; hobbies.

  3. Sometimes silence is best; having a friend/loved one/person who can simply be with you when you're sitting in the muck of life can make all the difference at times.

  4. Be open to people, things and ideas different from you.

  5. Some daily routine can create a sense of calm and predictability amidst the uncertainty of life.

  6. And lastly, compliments of my partner who responded with this when I forwarded it on to him:

"Love this. Don’t think too much – just be. And focus on being around people who make you happy."

So scroll on down and see if these wandering munchkins inspire you...

Look carefully in each picture for the cat as it makes its way down from the roof to the dog. Then, check the explanation at the end.

The story behind these pictures is this:

Every day — at the same time — she waits for him.

Sometimes she barks to call him.

He comes; they rub and greet each other and they go for a walk.

They have done this for 5 years and, no, they don't belong to the same owners. The owners didn't know until neighbours, seeing them together so frequently, commented to the cat's owner, who then followed the dog home and discovered it was a distance away, not in a house close by or next door.

How it started no one knows.

Wouldn't it be great to have friends like this? . . . . always there, no words needed . . . . they just intuitively recognize the value of each other in their lives and act accordingly.

"Live, Laugh, Love

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.

The way we cope with it is what makes the difference." -Author Unknown
